Regulator or motor? How to tell
Most power windows use a cable-driven regulator: a small motor winds a steel cable through plastic pulleys and clips that lift the glass. The plastic parts wear and crack, the cable frays or snaps, and the glass drops or jams.
You hear the motor whirr but the glass doesn’t move: usually the regulator. Dead silence when you press the switch: usually the motor, switch, fuse or wiring. Slow, then stops: often a motor on its way out.
We test the switch, power at the door and the motor before replacing anything, so you only pay for the part that’s actually failed.

Questions
Do I need to bring the car to a workshop?
No. We do the repair wherever the car is parked — home, work or the street.
Why don’t you list prices?
Parts differ by make, model, year and which door. We confirm the right part for your car first, then quote, so there are no surprises.
How long does a repair take?
It depends on whether parts are needed. If not, we can usually get the glass up and the car secure within a few hours of your call. If your car needs a new regulator, motor or glass, we secure the car first and come back to fit the part as soon as it arrives — we’ll give you a timeframe when we quote.
My window is stuck down. Is it safe to leave?
Not for long. An open window leaves the car exposed to rain and theft, and many insurers won’t cover theft from an unsecured car. Call us any time, day or night — we’re available 24/7 and prioritise windows stuck open.
The glass has fallen inside the door. Can you fix it?
Yes. This is one of the most common jobs we do. It usually means the regulator cable has snapped or a glass clip has broken. We retrieve the glass, replace the regulator and refit the window. Avoid pressing the switch in the meantime — it can tangle the cable further.
Is it the regulator, the motor or the switch?
If you hear the motor running but the glass doesn’t move, it’s usually the regulator. If there’s no sound at all, it’s more likely the motor, switch, fuse or wiring. We test each part at the car before replacing anything, so you only pay for what’s actually broken.
Do you fix utes, vans and 4WDs?
Yes. We repair power windows on most passenger cars, SUVs, utes and vans on Australian roads — including HiLux, Ranger, Navara, Triton and Colorado.
Will my auto-up and one-touch window still work after the repair?
Yes. After fitting the new part we re-initialise the window so one-touch up/down and anti-pinch work again. On most cars this is done at the switch; some need a scan tool, which we carry.
Do you come to my suburb?
We cover all of Sydney metro — the CBD, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, North Shore, Northern Beaches, Parramatta and the Hills, Western and South West Sydney, St George and the Sutherland Shire. Further out? We’ll still come — a travel fee applies and we’ll quote it upfront.
Do you work nights, weekends and public holidays?
Yes. We’re available 24/7, 365 days a year — the same as our roadside service.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. Every repair is covered by our 12-month parts and labour warranty, on top of your rights under Australian Consumer Law. If the part we fitted fails in that time, we come back and fix it.
